Staff Team

The Centre is staffed above the minimum requirements specified in legislation. All workers undergo Enhanced DBS checks and other Fit Persons Checks prior to taking up employment within the Centre.

All staff participates in daily briefing/sharing meetings, weekly planning meetings and regular meetings take place between children, parents/carers and staff to take full account of the children’s interests, opinions and desires. Staff/Parental/Carer interactions and sharing on a regular basis is also encouraged. This ensures breadth and relevance to meet unique and diverse needs and requirements of children in the Centre. A focused programme of evaluation through observing, assessing, monitoring, planning for and reviewing each child’s progress is operational.

The staff offer a range of community languages to service users. This helps to re-assert the cultural identity and self-esteem of bi-lingual/multi-lingual children and offers positive role models and increased experience for mono-lingual English speaking children. The children often use this experience to begin to acquire a second language.

In addition all children are given opportunity to learn additional languages including Urdu, Spanish, Italian, German, British Sign Language, Arabic and Gaelic Irish.

Centre staff are reflective of the diversity of Sheffield and the UK and the Centre has a mixed gender workforce.
